Every NEYFI stone is assigned an individual Stone ID. The ID connects the physical stone to the product facts and documentation recorded for that specific piece.
What a NEYFI record identifies
A stone record may include weight, dimensions, shape, treatment disclosure, origin statement, matrix and colour description, documentary images and current status. These fields are intended to distinguish one physical stone from another.
Verification and certificates
Where a live verification record or certificate has been issued for a stone, use the Stone ID and the record information supplied with that piece. A NEYFI record documents the NEYFI archive entry; it should not be interpreted as an independent laboratory report unless an independent report is specifically identified.
How to verify a NEYFI stone
- Start with the Stone ID and confirm that the product, certificate or verification reference identifies the same number.
- Compare the recorded dimensions, weight and shape with the physical stone or order documentation.
- Use stable visual landmarks in the front, reverse and profile photographs to distinguish the one-of-one object.
- Read origin and treatment statements as NEYFI disclosures unless an independent laboratory report is specifically identified.
The record is designed to preserve identity and disclosure, not to imitate an independent laboratory certificate. A buyer who requires third-party testing should request a report matched to the same Stone ID before relying on it for a laboratory conclusion.

NEYFI Index
Some NEYFI Stone Records include a NEYFI Index on a 0–10 scale. The Index is an internal NEYFI evaluation used to compare visual character, rarity and collector interest within the archive. It is not an independent gemological grade, laboratory result, customer rating, price guarantee or investment appraisal.
The Index should be read together with the individual Stone ID, documentary photographs, dimensions, treatment disclosure, origin statement, colour and matrix—not as a substitute for those facts.
If no NEYFI Index is shown for a Stone ID, NEYFI should not infer or backfill one for presentation. An absent score means that no approved public Index is currently attached to that record.
Why the record remains useful after purchase
A one-of-one stone can move from available inventory into a private collection or finished piece of jewellery. Keeping the Stone ID, original dimensions, treatment disclosure and documentary photographs together helps preserve the identity of the material after it is no longer available for sale.
